The Barbie Doll Portrait Project

The Barbie Doll Portrait Project was a year-long photographic study of vintage Barbie dolls from the Frank Chross Collection. It began in October, 2007 with a 1961 Barbie doll dressed for Halloween and ended 52 weeks later with a special portrait of a Number One and Number Three doll duo. At it's conclusion, the Barbie Doll Portrait Project blog had been seen by visitors in 84 countries.

Since then, a special exhibition titled When Is A Doll Not A Doll, has been created as a new project and was exhibited at the Bruno David Gallery in St. Louis.

While it was sad to see the blog come to an end, the result of the Barbie Doll Portrait Project has been a successful entry into the serious world of fine art photography.
